Synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical properties of [Ag.sub.2][V.sub.4] [O.sub.11] and AgV[O.sub.3] 1-D nano/microstructures
Article Abstract:
The synthesis of [Ag.sub.2][V.sub.4] [O.sub.11] nanowires, [alpha]-AgV[O.sub.3] microrods, and [beta]-AgV[O.sub.3] nanowires is reported, through a simple and facile low-temperature hydrothermal approach. Electrochemical measurements revealed that the as-prepared [Ag.sub.2][V.sub.4] [O.sub.11] nanowires, [alpha]-AgV[O.sub.3] microrods, and [beta]-AgV[O.sub.3] nanowires exhibited high discharged capacities and excellent high-rate dischargeability.

Synthesis of Cu(OH)2 nanowires at aqueous-organic interfaces
Article Abstract:
Cu(OH)2 nanowires and nanorods are synthesized, at the organic-aqueous interface, by taking a metallo-organic precursor in the organic layer and the appropriate alkaline concentrations in the aqueous layer. The characterization of the microstructures and morphologies of the nanowire materials are done by transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques.

Polyol process synthesis of monodispersed FePt nanoparticles
Article Abstract:
Monodispersed FePt nanoparticles are synthesized by reduction of iron acetylacetonate and platinum acetylacetonate with 1,2-hexadecanediol as the reducing reagent in the polyol process. Transmission electron microscopy deviation about annealing at 650 degree Celsius for 30 min in AR atmosphere where the oxygen level is less than 1 ppm.
